Everything you need to know about using MyKabbi as a passenger or a driver.

BOOKING & RIDES

How do I book a taxi with MyKabbi?

Download the MyKabbi app from the App Store or Google Play, create a free account, enter your pickup and drop-off location, choose your ride type (Kabbi, Kabbi Lux, or Kabbi 6), and confirm your booking. Your driver will be assigned within seconds.

Can I pre-book a ride in advance?

Yes. MyKabbi allows you to schedule rides up to 7 days in advance. This is ideal for airport transfers, hospital appointments, early morning commutes, or any journey where reliability matters. Just select a future date and time when booking.

What areas does MyKabbi cover?

MyKabbi currently covers Belfast City Centre, Greater Belfast (South, East, North, and West Belfast), Lisburn, and Newtownards. Antrim, Ballymena, Derry/Londonderry, and Bangor are launching in 2026.

How long will I wait for a driver?

In Belfast city centre, typical wait times are 2–5 minutes during peak hours. In outer Belfast and Lisburn, expect 5–10 minutes. Wait times may be longer during very high demand periods such as New Year's Eve or major events.

What are the three ride types?

Kabbi is our standard ride — a comfortable saloon car for up to 4 passengers. Kabbi Lux is a premium vehicle with leather interior, ideal for business travel or special occasions. Kabbi 6 accommodates up to 6 passengers in a spacious MPV — perfect for groups or airport transfers with luggage.

PRICING & PAYMENT

How is the fare calculated?

Fares are calculated based on distance and estimated journey time. You'll see the full fare estimate before you confirm your booking — so there are no surprises. We do not apply surge pricing during peak periods.

Does MyKabbi use surge pricing?

No. Unlike some global platforms, MyKabbi does not apply surge pricing. The fare you see when you book is the fare you pay — regardless of the time of day, weather, or demand levels.

How can I pay?

You can pay by credit or debit card directly through the app. Payment is processed automatically at the end of your trip — no cash needed. Cash payments are also accepted for those who prefer it.

Are there any booking fees?

There are no booking fees or subscription charges. You only pay the fare for your journey. The MyKabbi app itself is completely free to download.

SAFETY

How do I know my driver is legitimate?

Every MyKabbi driver is fully licensed by the relevant Northern Ireland licensing authority, background-checked, and verified before they can accept trips. When your driver is assigned, you'll see their name, photo, vehicle make, and registration plate.

What is the SOS safety alert?

MyKabbi includes a built-in SOS button visible throughout your ride. Pressing it will immediately alert your pre-saved trusted contacts with your real-time GPS location. You can also opt to contact emergency services directly from within the app.

Can I share my journey with someone?

Yes. Once your ride begins, you can share a live tracking link with any contact. They'll be able to follow your journey in real time from pickup to drop-off — ideal for getting home safely on a night out.

What happens if I have a safety concern during a ride?

Use the in-app SOS button immediately. You can also contact MyKabbi support directly through the app. In an emergency, always call 999 first. All incidents are investigated and we operate a zero-tolerance policy on driver misconduct.

DRIVING FOR MYKABBI

How do I apply to drive for MyKabbi?

How much do drivers earn?

Is there a minimum hours commitment?
